Hawaii Prep took both halves of a doubleheader, knocking off Kealakehe 16-2 before taking down Konawaena 23-4.
Janelle Laros, Ava Jean Johnston and Elizabeth Jim each tallied eight goals in the double-feature for Hawaii Prep.
Ka Makani has cruised to a 9-0 record this season, but its biggest test will come Saturday at Kona Aquatic Center against Kamehameha (8-1). Hawaii Prep handed the Warriors — the six-time defending BIIF champions — their only loss earlier this season. However, that game came against a Kamehameha squad that was missing most of its starting lineup.
If Kamehameha wins, and the teams end up splitting the season series, Hawaii Prep has a pretty healthy margin in the goal differential department — the second tiebreaker after head-to-head — to retain the No. 1 seed. Ka Makani beat the shorthanded Warriors 20-7 on March 12
Overall, Ka Makani have outscored opponents 172-46 to the Warriors 125-73.
Meanwhile, Konawaena (3-6) will face Hilo (2-7) in a win-and-get-in situation on Saturday. If Konawaena loses, the teams would have a play-in game for the final spot, with a coin flip determining the location.
Kealakehe (4-5) has locked up a playoff spot, regardless of its result against Waiakea (1-8) on Saturday.
